To learn about the human and personal side of Dr. Neeta Popat you can look at the page that expresses "OUR VALUES". But here, on this page, is where you can check Dr. Popat's credentials that have been acquired through academic recognition and achievements.

Chelmsford, England
At the age of 12 Neeta Popat had such an affinity for dentistry that she made herself useful at a local dental clinic in Chelmsford, England, where she was the youngest in a family of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Soon she was formally asked to perform duties at the clinic that involved sterilizing instruments and assisting in cleanup and preparation within the clinic. There is something "Old School" about such an early calling to learn the profession from the bottom up.

Later, as a young woman she graduated with distinction in the Dental Auxiliary field working in children's dentistry. Then, while visiting a brother in Canada, she decided to stay and attend Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and graduated "cum laude" in a double major in Psychology / Philosophy.

With Canada's, then, lack of recognition for credentials outside of the country she decided to attend Dalhousie University, Halifax, to obtain a doctorate in dentistry so she could practice her chosen profession in Canada. Thus, Dr. Popat has completed her training in dentistry twice over and graduated with Awards for outstanding work in Pediatric Dentistry from the American Society of Dentistry.

Since graduation, Dr. Popat has been involved in various study clubs and further education courses that include:

  • Prosthodontics
(crown, veneers, bridges and gold restorations)
  • Cosmetic Dentistry
(a wide variety of treatment options for people seeking to enhance their smile from porcelain veneers to braces)
  • Endodontics
(The pulp containing nerves, arterioles and venules as well as lymphatic tissue and fibrous tissue can become diseased or injured, and is often unable to repair itself; if it dies, endodontic treatment is required)
  • Periodontics
(The word comes from the Greek words peri meaning around and odons meaning tooth. Literally taken, it means study of that which is "around the tooth")
  • Orthodontics
(a specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of improper bite)
  • Oral Surgery
(Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is surgery to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. It is a recognized international surgical specialty)
