Heart & Soul Values of Burnaby Dental Centre

A passion for dentistry happened at an early age for Neeta Popat and she has pursued that passion almost non stop since then, with just a minor interruption to acquire a double major in psychology and philosophy. The psychology major provides her with an insight and compassion to better understand her clients. The philosophy major provides the heart and soul that transcends the scientist that she is into a woman that sees more than the clinical scope of practical and medical procedures. It is not surprising then, that she is seen as a compassionate healer and artisan by her patients. The values that are clearly expressed by Dr. Popat at Burnaby Dental Centre all stem from a desire to restore health with lasting dental work, and to restore self esteem (restore the person) through esthetic procedures that benefit from an artists touch.

From an artistic point of view dentistry is no different than so many other professions. There are those practitioners in any profession that have the artist's touch to produce exceptionally fine results. And there are other professionals that produce the best clinical results for strength and durability. But wouldn't it be nice if your dentist excelled in both the clinical and the artistic aspects of dentistry?

Meet Dr. Neeta Popat

It is one thing to know you are in good hands, and it is another to "feel it with certainty." With Dr. Neeta Popat and her staff you will experience what can only be described as a professional compassion. Because she is without pretentiousness her clients know her as Neeta, not Dr. Popat. Neeta sees her professional position, and the role of Burnaby Dental Centre, as a focus for serving others. Serving means putting the needs of her clients ahead of all other factors; and then meeting the needs of the local community in Burnaby Heights; followed equally with serving the need for better trained and caring dental practitioners emerging from UBC.

Being of service to her valued clients is the primary purpose for the existance of Burnaby Dental Centre. It is not that common for a scientist and academic achiever to have such a strong desire to express "heart & soul" within their chosen profession. This is accomplished by Neeta through her desire to be of service to all that would seek a learned and caring Doctor of Dentistry.

Dr. Neeta Popat continues to acquire the latest knowledge of new materials along with advances in dentistry techniques, and she applies those new techniques in her practice when they possess a genuine benefit. But she is not inclined to adopt the latest techniques if they have not yet proven to be of benefit to her patients. Your health, through safe and durable dental work, is of greater value to Dr. Popat than experimenting with the latest techniques that have not demonstrated themselves to be superior than the "tried and true" methods.

Values
Dr. Popat's standards in dentistry raises the bar for professional and intelligent choices... which are the very same standards she passes on to the students she teaches at UBC on a part time basis. Teaching is another way that Neeta Popat gives back to the community through assisting a new generation of skilled dentists.

Dr. Popat's passion for dentistry keeps her involved with educational seminars and teaching at UBC. She has also been involved in supervising senior students on "Tuesday night Clinics for Extraction" through the Reach Dental Program.

Closer to home, in the Burnaby Heights Community, she is actively involved in the "Heights Merchant's Association" where she is currently serving on the Beautification Committee; Safety and Security Committee; and Community Police Advisory Committee.

Neeta's compassion for both the younger and the older members of our society is revealed by her educational seminars for preschool and senior's homes to share her passion about oral health care. For the elderly she presents educational topics for the problems faced in older age groups.

Dr. Neeta Popat is also involved with Burnaby Schools, helping with preparation for exit interviews and brainstorming career ideas with grade 12 students. Burnaby Dental Centre also accommodates Dental Assisting students with their practicum experiences and guides them with hands on dental assisting.

Affinity Neeta's affinity for working with gold in restorations (for non-esthetical areas in the mouth) is an option that is offered at Burnaby Dental Centre. Gold is one of the few metals that has a beneficial effect on the body for the vast majority of people and it has long been known for its healing qualities.

The Best Solutions For Gold Restorations Meet With Three Criteria

  1. It must match our patient's preferences
  2. When the long term value justifies the expense
  3. Our patient's personal budget (including dental plan)

When a balance can be reached between those three criteria then it is a good time to talk about gold restorations.
